Wish there was such a thing as weedless gardening? The Watering Weedless Wonder is a weed mat that can help you control weeds in your vegetable or flower garden with a built-in soaker hose. This revolutionary product is a 44" x 58" mat of highly UV resistant polypropylene material commonly called "weed barrier" and has a life expectancy of five years or more if it is taken care of properly. Air and water pass through, but the weeds don't! Eight grommets surround each unit and 8 wire stakes are utilized for attaching individual units side by side or end to end, thus permitting numerous units to be attached to each other for larger gardens. All openings for planting are heat-cut so the woven material will not ravel. Watering is made possible by a 3/8" porous hose (similar to a "soaker hose") which is encased in the weed barrier material. When the rows or holes are cut, the resulting flap created by heat cutting three sides of the woven polypropylene is encased around the porous hose and is heat-bonded to hold the hose next to the row or hole so that watering occurs directly to the roots of the plant. A flow control device is placed in the female end of the 3/8" hose to restrict the amount of water coming into the hose. The only thing you need to connect the mats together is a 39" coupler hose and, depending on the number of mats you link together and the model(s), you may need to insert a larger capacity flow restrictor in the female end of your hose closest to your water source. Each mat comes with a water control device, eight galvanized steel stakes, hose fittings and rubber washers.
